VideoLAN VLC

Free playback that handles almost anything.

VLC media player is a free and open source video and audio player from VideoLAN. It is widely used because it plays most common media files without needing extra codec packs.

  • Cost: free.
  • Good for previewing Capturizer video and audio outputs.
  • Helpful for MP4, MP3, subtitles, downloaded clips, and converted audiobook files.
  • No spyware, ads, or user tracking are allowed in VLC.

AI API providers

Optional AI features use your own provider billing.

An AI API key lets Capturizer request cloud AI services from a provider account you control. OpenAI is the active integrated provider in the current Windows build; the app settings and roadmap also identify other providers customers may prefer for future transcription, text, translation, or voice integrations.

  • Cost: billed separately by the provider based on API usage.
  • A paid consumer subscription usually does not automatically include developer API usage.
  • Transcription is commonly priced by audio minute; text generation is commonly priced by tokens; voice output may be priced by characters or minutes.
  • You control the key in Capturizer Settings and can remove or replace it at any time.

Costs

VLC is free. AI API usage depends on the provider and what you process.

VLC does not charge for playback. AI API costs vary by provider, model, and task. Always check the provider's current pricing before heavy use.

Capturizer does not include or resell AI API credits. Any API charges are handled directly through your provider account.

Practical guidance

  1. Install VLC if you want a reliable free player for Capturizer outputs.
  2. Create a provider account only if you want cloud AI transcription, summaries, translation, article generation, or future cloud voice features.
  3. Add billing or prepaid credits if your provider account requires it.
  4. Create an API key and paste it into Capturizer Settings when that provider is supported by your app version.
  5. Keep your API key private and replace it if you think it was shared accidentally.
